This metadatabase forms part of the Malta Blue Pages and gives acces through a web directory to provide descirptions on existing national data sets relating to the marine environment. It covers a wide range of disciplines including marine meteorology; physical, chemical and biological oceanography; sedimentology; marine biology and fisheries; environmental quality monitoring; coastal and estuarine studies; marine geology and geophysics etc.

Since this inventory only decribes the data sets available, and not the data itself, encouragement is given to holders of working data sets, including data of a confidential or restricted availability, to make their data holding known through this website.
